Betacam SX

Betacam SX is the accepted digital replacement format for Betacam SP tape, offering 8-bit 4:2:2[Pix: Sampling] digital quality with substantially lower cost than the analog Betacam SP tape. Betacam SX equipment has been designed with a number of applications in mind, particularly news and sport production. Using Sony Betacam SX format tape ensures users gain the most from this sophisticated digital production system.

The New Betacam SX SXA Series, boasts the high degree of tape-to-head contact demanded for digital tape, employing a strengthened base for optimum tape thickness. The result is 62 minutes of recording and playback for the small-size cassette,and up to 194 minutes for the large size cassette -- and all this with a low error rate even after repeated uses. This means greater recording efficiency and convenience in a cost-effective format with high picture quality and digital data integrity.
